The Port of Long Beach is once again sponsoring free events across Long Beach this summer. The action-packed summer continues Tuesday, July 18, with “The Breakfast Club” on Granada Beach.
The ever popular Moonlight Movies on the Beach will be back with movies playing at two new beaches. Moonlight Movies on the Beach will be held at Granada Beach on Tuesday evenings, while this year Thursday night movies will be shown at Cherry Beach or Alamitos Beach.
In addition to outdoor movies, the Port is also supporting many free concerts and other events this summer. Municipal Band concerts, the Summer and Music concert series in downtown Long Beach, the Willmore S.L.A.M. — Season of Live Arts and Music concerts — and Uptown Jazz Festival are just a few.
“Supporting free summer activities for Long Beach residents allows the Port to meet face-to-face with the local community. Expanding our outreach to more Long Beach neighborhoods is key. We are excited to help people learn more about the Port while having fun with their families this summer,” said Long Beach Harbor Commissioners President Lori Ann Guzmán.
It all kicks off at sundown tomorrow, with a screening of “Rogue One – A Star Wars Story” on the sand at Granada Beach, just off Ocean Boulevard at Granada Avenue in Belmont Shore. Cherry Beach is located at 1 Junipero Avenue and Alamitos Beach is located at 700 East Shoreline Drive.
Movies will be shown on Tuesdays and Thursdays at dusk, starting around 8 p.m.
