Cosplay takes center stage for RennCon weekend at Renaissance Faire


Trying to decide whether to hit the Renaissance Pleasure Faire this weekend? Join them on RennCon™ Weekend, for their first celebration of cosplay in all its forms at the Santa Fe Recreation Area in Irwindale.

Attend a panel, take in the scenery, and enjoy some very special surprises! Whether you draw your inspiration from the sci-fi scene, anime, comics, television, fairy tales, or anywhere else …  they invite you to mingle with our 16th century townsfolk in the biggest costume party in L.A. this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.


Masquerade Costume Contest – Sign up at the Guest Services booth at the top of the Food Court before 3:15 p.m. All contestants will gather and toast in the Food Court Area from 3:30 to 4 p.m.

While the contestants meet and greet, anonymous judging will occur. They’ll close the gathering with a group photo. The winners of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire’s Masquerade Costume Contest will be announced at 5 p.m.


Steam Powered Giraffe Performance (Saturday May 13th, 6 p.m. ONLY)
Steam Powered Giraffe, the singing musical automatons, are proud to announce their appearance at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire!

This quirky act combines comedic sketches, improvised android banter, and original music fused with multimedia visuals, billowing steam effects, and robot pantomime.

The robots perform Saturday, May 13, at 6 pm during RennCon™Weekend. More than just a band, Steam Powered Giraffe is an experience that must be seen and heard by the entire family.

The Dread Crew of Oddwood

The Dread Crew of Oddwood is a pirate themed band that blends Heavy Metal, Celtic Rock, and Folk Punk with a unique acoustic instrumentation to proclaim a new genre: Heavy Mahogany. Embarking from San Diego in 2008, this bloodthirsty horde has accumulated a commendable cult following in the musical underground of Southern California, and is rapidly gaining infamy throughout the far corners of the world.

Jack Dagger 

Declared a living legend by the International Knife Thrower’s Hall of Fame. Come see a little danger and a lot of comedy when Jack and Jenny break out the swords, knives, and FIRE. A great time will be had by the whole family as these two globe trotting entertainers make with the funny.
